If you’ve been searching for an optimal joann shampoo, there’s good news.
The latest research shows that you can actually find it in the ingredients list of your favorite products.
In a recent study, researchers from the University of Illinois and the University at Buffalo surveyed more than 1,000 women about their shampoo use and their hair health and found that some of the most popular products were made with organic ingredients.
According to the study, one of the ingredients that stood out to the women most was a high-quality mineral essential oil.
“We found that while the most commonly identified essential oils were essential oils with a high percentage of organic oils, there were also some that were higher in a number of other synthetic organic compounds,” said lead author Christina Mazzotta.
Essential oils are plant-derived molecules that are also found in a variety of foods and are often used in cosmetics, perfumes, body wash, shampoos, and other cosmetics.
One of the more common synthetic organic acids in natural beauty products is hydrogenated soybean oil (HOSA), which is sometimes referred to as the “superfood” or the “oil of life.”
“The hydrogenated hydrogenating of soybean oils is an interesting chemical that’s been shown to increase antioxidant activity in the body,” Mazzota explained.
HOSAs are widely used in the cosmetics industry, and they are often touted as being healthier than regular soybean or sunflower oils.
However, the research also showed that these essential oils can cause problems with hair health, which can include brittle and frizzy hair.
So, the next time you’re considering purchasing your favorite shampoo or body wash made with an HOSA essential oil, be sure to check the ingredients and ingredients list for what you’re looking for.
